If you’re into warm, tasty beverages, super-powered antioxidants and simple recipes, this one is for you!
You may have heard of green coffee in the past – I believe it showed up for a little while as the “best new superfood that will change your life forever,” as these nutrient-packed foods often do. I somehow avoided green coffee through its popular months, and just recently purchased it while strolling the aisles of my local health food store.
Yes, this is coffee (with caffeine) but the beans are not roasted, leaving them green and packed fill of CGA (aka chlorogenic acid), a powerful antioxidant that gives coffee many of its health benefits. As with many other foods, roasting and high heat can kill off some of the beneficial components in foods, and because these beans are unfrosted, they are left with all of their naturally occurring nutrients and antioxidants. That makes me smile.
As I sat here with a list of “to-do’s” in front of me, I wanted to quickly make myself a drink and try out a sample of my newly purchased green powder before I began checking things off. Now, my list has been pushed to the side as I wanted to share this delicious recipe with you immediately.
Ingredients:
1 cup unsweetened nut milk
1 cup water
1 teaspoon green coffee powder
5 drops vanilla stevia
Sprinkle of cinnamon
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon ghee (or grass fed butter)
available on Thrive Market for a cheaper price
Directions:
Warm water and milk together over low heat. Once warm, add to a blender with all other ingredients. Blend on high for 10 seconds to mix properly and make frothy. Enjoy!
The combination of caffeine and healthy fats will offer an immediate boost in energy and clarity, and the high-antioxidant levels will supply many health benefits throughout the day (anti-aging, increased cell regeneration, energy, brain support, heart health, and much more!).
So blend away friends, and let me know what you think!
How these ideas come from? Last week one of my friends told me about green matcha tea and now green coffee:) Thanks for sharing such a great information.
