Amazing Blueberry Vanilla Protein Smoothie

Smoothies are one of my favorite summer go-to’s.  They are refreshing, nutrient dense, and when made right, can provide all the essentials to leave you feeling satiated, satisfied and energized.

One of my favorite combos?  Vanilla and blueberries.  Sure, this might sound like a weird mix, but I promise it is sure to get your tastebuds dancing and your body feeling great!

 

Alongside the vanilla and blueberries, I included some of my favorite additions to amp up the nutritional value of this smoothie, enabling it to be a healthy breakfast or protein packed post-workout snack (say that 5 times fast).

You will need:vanilla blueberry smoothie

1/4 cup frozen blueberries

1/2 stick frozen acai puree (unsweetened)

1 tablespoon almond butter

1 tablespoon hemp seeds

2 teaspoons unfiltered coconut oil

2 scoops grass-fed vanilla whey protein powder (I have been loving Tera’sWhey)

1/2 cup unsweetened nut milk (I prefer my homemade cashew milk)

1/2 water

Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth!

*As an added tip – I often will blend everything together besides the whey powder first, and then add in the powder at the very end.  I have found the whey protein powder can make the smoothie a little “fluffy” if blended with everything from the beginning.
